About Us

The Sue de Vries Cancer Foundation, founded in loving memory of our friend and mentor, Susan de Vries, is dedicated to providing free cancer programming to patients and their loved ones on the North Shore. These services may come in the form of education, counseling, support groups, exercise and nutrition, to name just a few. Services are entirely free of charge for those whose lives are touched by cancer. The Foundation actively raises essential funds to ensure the continued presence of Sue’s name and her vision on the North Shore.

Our mission is to provide free cancer programming to patients and their loved ones on the North Shore. Our philosophy is that of enhancing health and wellbeing for cancer patients and their families. It was Sue’s dream to provide these resources in her own community. It is the goal of the Sue de Vries Cancer Foundation to see that Sue's dream continues to provide these essential services to patients and families on the North Shore.

“So many people want to help – everyone felt Sue was their best friend,” Danielle Jacobs, says. Ethan Forman, Larisa’s husband, leads the
annual Sea Glass bike ride, which grew from the nucleus of Sue’s Pan Mass Challenge cycling group.

Every Sunday for several summers, Danielle Jacobs and Larisa teach Yoga on the Beach, donating the gifts of participants.
