About Sue
Susan de Vries, 44, wife and mother of three, lost her five-year battle with breast cancer in 2006. Called “a once-in-a-lifetime person,” Sue saw her disease as an opportunity to provide comfort and support to others. Beautiful, courageous and determined, she accomplished her dream of creating a community of caring and understanding for those whose lives were also touched by cancer. Following her death, loving friends established the Sue de Vries Cancer Foundation dedicated to funding programs for those whose lives have been touched by cancer. The Foundation is a lasting legacy reflecting her indomitable spirit.

Our Cause
The Sue de Vries Cancer Foundation, founded in loving memory of our friend and mentor, Susan de Vries, is dedicated to providing free cancer programming to patients and their loved ones on the North Shore. These services may come in the form of education, counseling, support groups, exercise and nutrition, to name just a few. Services are entirely free of charge for those whose lives are touched by cancer. The Foundation actively raises essential funds to ensure the continued presence of Sue’s name and her vision on the North Shore.
