The Sue de Vries Wellness Room
at Mass General North Shore Cancer Center

The Sue de Vries Cancer Foundation's partnership with The Mass General North Shore Cancer Center
in Danvers provides free wellness programming to cancer patients and their families. The hospital has
an incredible program that is completely in synch with our mission. The program offers a wide variety
of wellness services, including massage, reiki, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, and support groups,
to name a few.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the hospital now includes a Sue de Vries Wellness Room.
The room is meant to be a place of peace, where people can go to receive wellness treatments of their choice, free of charge, with the hope of taking some pressure off an otherwise stressful situation.

Over the last year, nearly 800 acupuncture treatments were all given free of charge to help ease pain
and discomfort to those receiving chemotherapy. 190 free reiki sessions were provided to patients while
they waited for radiation. These sessions are so very helpful in reducing anxiety and pain. In addition,
280 massages were performed either before, during or after treatments.

Providing these treatments in Sue’s name, enables us to carry forth her vision of free wellness services
for cancer patients and their families on the North Shore.
